Job description

We are looking for a WordPress Developer looking to build innovative products for Kadence WP. The job will primarily be working in Gutenberg (React) and PHP to develop easy-to-use tools for people to build effective websites.

This position requires experience going beyond building websites. You would be working in a complex product suite that spans from themes to advanced e-commerce integrations. Our products are constantly growing and improving, so this requires thinking about how to create products that are extensible. This requires a strong understanding of application architecture, OOP PHP skills, and JS + React skills. We push the boundaries of modern WordPress architecture, so if you feel ready to jump into this and hit the ground running, then we’re looking for you!

You will collaborate with a cross-functional team to architect and develop durable, extensible, and secure code.

This is a remote position with a flexible schedule.

As a WordPress Developer you would:

  • Develop new software solutions and maintain existing applications
  • Work with stakeholders to understand requirements and objectives
  • Create, review, and update technical documentation
  • Keep apprised of relevant new technology and best practices
  • Write tests to validate code function
  • Execute bug fixes
  • Measure results of implemented solutions
  • Participate in troubleshooting customer issues and providing helpful solutions.

You Have:

  • 3+ years experience w/ PHP (WordPress Plugin development would be a big plus)
  • JavaScript + React experience (Gutenberg development experience would be a plus)
  • Basic knowledge of the product development life cycle
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills
  • Exceptional HTML & CSS skills
  • A passion for improving software/systems
  • Ability to work remotely with little-to-no supervision

Bonus Points for:

  • Experience with developing blocks for the Block Editor and developing w/ ReactJS
  • Experience with continuous integration and automated deployment pipelines
  • Experience building products that are accessible (you’ve worked with WAI-ARIA and done WCAG 2.0+ AA/Section 508 work) and performant (working knowledge of best practices)
  • Experience in more advanced areas of JavaScript (state management; async operations; unit, snapshot, and integration testing; REST APIs)
